Maruti suzuki unveiled the new Vitara at the Paris Motor Show is set to be launched at AUTO EXPO INDIA 2016 and will be available for sale. The new compact sedan will be launched in diesel and petrol engines.

Features like touchscreen SmartPlay system, Apple CarPlay and entertainment system with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity will be exclusively offered on the top-end model. Similar to the S-Cross crossover, the Vitara compact SUV might come with a cruise control system.

The compact SUV will share the platform, equipment and engine line-up with the existing Swift hatchback.

the Indian versions of  Maruti Vitara  will be available with two engine options – a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. Both the power are borrowed from the Swift hatchback. While the petrol mill churns out a maximum power of 83.11bhp at 6,000rpm and 115Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, the diesel mill offers 73.94bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm at 2,000rpm. Transmission options on offer will be a 5-speed manual (standard) and a CVT (only on the petrol model).

 Maruti Vitara will be pitted against the Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta , it is expected to be priced around Rs. 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

INTERIORS

The compact SUV shares its interior design with the Baleno premium hatchback, while control layout and equipment are carried forward from the Swift hatchback. The all-black dashboard with a piano-black highlight on the centre console and black fabric seats make more to its sporty appeal. The top-end variant of the compact SUV will be equipped with a touchscreen SmartPlay system, Apple CarPlay and entertainment system with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity.
